Trojan wrestlers Quentin Pauda and Eric Cain turned in dominating performances at the Rocky Mountain Nationals tournament on June 4-5 in Denver, Colo.
Pauda, Colby Community College's starting 133-pound sophomore from Ulysses, pinned his way through the tournament. He had a first-period victory over Juan Telles in 1:53 and then won against Ryan Beyer, Jr. at the 1:13 mark. The next day he earned two more pins.
At 149 pounds, Oakley native Cain followed a similar path with pins in all three of his matches.
"Both young men wrestled outstanding to take first place in their weight classes," said CCC Head Coach CJ Shavers."It's setting the tone to a very successful season."
