Trojans run at home on Saturday
In the only home meet of the season, the Colby Community College men's and women's cross country teams will host the Trojan Invitational on Saturday at the Meadow Lake Golf Course in Colby. The women begin at 10 a.m., followed by the men at 10:45 a.m.
Approximately 300 athletes are entered.
Several nationally ranked teams will compete, starting with the No. 1-ranked Trojan men, fourth-ranked Trinidad State College, sixth-ranked Northwest Kansas Technical College, and No. 22 Garden City Community College.
Ranked women's teams include Garden City (13) and Trinidad State (23).
Division I Air Force will send their twelfth-ranked men's squad, while Colorado School of Mines men (1) and women (3) and Colorado Christian men (7) and women (12) represent Division II.
Other notable schools competing are Fort Hays State University, Metropolitan State University of Denver, Chadron State College, Friends University, and Hastings College from Nebraska.
The event is free to the public.
