The Colby Community College equestrian team won reserve high point team in the second of two western shows on Nov. 12 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Kirsten Miessler won reserve high point rider in the first show. Three riders also qualified in four events for regional competition. Ashlynn Stamper earned her points in level II horsemanship and ranch riding, and Nellie Kaner and Michaela Derickson qualified in beginner horsemanship.
"Our team had a strong showing at our final western shows of the semester," said CCC Head Coach Shanda Mattix. "They're riding well and handling the challenging horses with confidence."
"We have a large number of students qualified for regionals, which is exciting at this point in the season!" Mattix added. "Weather permitting, we'll continue to practice until Christmas break and then begin as the spring semester starts in January."
The Trojans resume competition on Feb. 4 and 5 at a hunt seat show in Colorado Springs, Colo.
