The Colby Community College Lady Trojans volleyball team won a hard-fought Jayhawk Conference battle with Butler Community College, 25-23, 25-21 and 25-23 Wednesday night at the Colby Community Building.
CCC freshman Brennah Gaston had a huge double-double with 14 kills and a game-high 20 digs, while Julie Archer tallied 10 kills. Nina Gjorgijevska added 19 digs and Jordin O'Brien had 18. Melanie Loiseau contributed 34 assists and continues to lead the nation with 372 for the season.
After playing in a tournament Friday and Saturday in Rangely, Colo., the Lady Trojans (10-1, 3-0) return to conference play Sept. 13 at Pratt. The next home contest is Sept. 16 with Hutchinson.
