Swan wins the 800m
In the final regular-season meet of the season, the Colby Community College track and field teams competed at the Cloud County Invitational in Concordia on April 24.
Brooke Navarro led the Trojan women in the 1500m with a third-place finish and a personal best of 5:07.14, followed by Mya Navarro's ninth-place time of 5:26.44. Emily Westeman took eleventh with a personal best of 5:38.00.
Emery Swan highlighted the meet for the Trojans with a 2:24.42 victory in the 800m, followed by Allison Hiatt with a season-best 2:35.49.
In the 5000m, Erika Alvarado finished second with a time of 20:09.42.
For the men, Rihards Sergis ran a 10:33.67 in the steeplechase to finish fourth. In the high jump, Weston Lewis matched his personal best of 1.96 meters to take third. Ruben Martinez placed eighth in the 1500m run with a personal best of 4:23.24, followed by Jesse Bebb's ninth-place finish in 4:32.12, also a personal best. In the 5000m, Arthur Berthelin ran a 16:04.30 to earn tenth.
The Trojan men and women will compete May 3-4 at the Region VI Outdoor Track & Field Championships in El Dorado.
