The Colby Community College women's basketball team dropped a 62-51 contest to Northwestern Kansas Technical College Wednesday night at the Colby Community Building.

The Trojans, now 12-5 on the season and 3-5 in the Jayhawk Conference, trailed 13-12 at the end of the first but scored just seven points in the second frame and entered the break down 31-19. The gap was too big to overcome even though CCC outscored Tech 32-31 in the second half.

Colby shot 23.2% (16-29) from the field compared to the Mavericks' 44% (24-54).

CCC's Alize Ruiz had a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds while Brittanie Brickhouse added 15 points.

Zantasia White's 20 points led the Mavericks, who improve to 7-10 and 3-6 in conference play.

The Trojans are back in action Saturday in a 3 p.m. game with Barton Community College at the Community Building.
