NJCAA Indoor National Tournament Results: Trojans earn 10 All-American honors
GAINESVILLE, FL. - Colby Community College traveled to Gainesville, Florida to compete in the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field National CHampionships.
GAINESVILLE, FL. - Colby Community College traveled to Gainesville, Florida, to compete in the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championships. The Trojans earned ten All-American honors throughout the weekend and had five top-five finishes. The Men's program finished 16th overall at Nationals, while the Women's program placed 10th overall. This concludes the Indoor season, but the teams will now prepare for the Outdoor competitions. Below are the final results for each individual at Nationals broken down by program.
Men's Track Team finished 16th:
- Tremaine Browne achieved 6th place in Long Jump and 7th in Triple Jump, setting a school record and Personal Best.
- Matheo Guimene placed 24th in the mile with a personal record and 15th in the 5000m.
- Antone Higgs secured 15th place in Long Jump.
- Sibonelo Khumalo attained 17th place in the 3000m and 8th in the 5000m.
- Kgadi Monyebodi finished 7th in the 3000m and 4th in the 5000m with a personal record.
- Cayde de Waal achieved 14th in the 1000m with a personal record and 16th in the mile with another personal record.
Women's Track Team finished 10th:
- Anita Afrifa secured 5th place in the 60m and 3rd in the 200m and broke her own school record.
- Rosemary Arthur attained 8th place in the mile with a personal record and school record, she also finished 5th in the 3000m with another personal best.
- Ann Badawi finished 11th in the 1000m.
- Tara Bert achieved 3rd place in the 1000m with a personal and school record.
-Massaine Jouen finished 28th in the 1000m.
- Nonhlanhla Mabuza secured 25th place in the mile.
- Elizabeth Tuxpan Hernandez achieved 12th in the 3000m and 11th in the 5000m.
- The DMR team (Bert, Jouen, Badawi, Arthur) finished 5th and shattered the school record
