Men's track qualifies three
Freshman trio make their marks in the 3000m
Three members of the Colby Community College men's indoor track and field team qualified for the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships after a solid performance at the All-Kansas Invite on Jan. 22 in Topeka.
Freshmen Ricardo Barbosa, Sanele Masondo and Remi Chavenaud had qualifying times in the 3,000-meter run. Barbosa (8:12.61) currently holds the No. 1 spot in the NJCAA, posted the second-best time in CCC history, and is the fifth-fastest male in NJCAA history. Masondo (8:29.00) is sixth in the NJCAA and registered the fourth-fastest time in program history, while Chavenaud is presently 8th in the NJCAA and tallied the school's fifth-best time.
The trio joined freshman Luke Sundberg, who earned his way to nationals in the mile and 800m earlier this month at the University of Nebraska Graduate Classic.
