Kipp Nelson
Kipp Nelson

Bio

Kipp Nelson has been the head athletic trainer at Colby Community College since 1999. Nelson received his bachelor's degree in 1994 from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he earned the Wallace Outstanding Athletic Trainer award. After graduation, Nelson became the Head Athletic Trainer for the Douglas Unified School District in Douglas, Arizona. During his two years, he started a sports medicine program that oversaw 12 sports as well as sports medicine classes. Nelson received his master's degree from Eastern New Mexico University in 1999, where he served as the graduate assistant athletic trainer. He worked mainly with volleyball, basketball and baseball while attend ENMU.

His responsibilities include providing services for practices, home competitions (including the needs of visiting teams), and other designated times. Nelson oversees athletic training work-study students and is also the manager of the swimming pool on campus.
