Cross country teams begin season ranked
Women 9th, men 15th in USTFCCA polls
The Colby Community College men's cross country team is ranked 15th and the women's team 9th in the season's first United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association polls.
"It is nice to be noticed but we don't put too much value into the polls," said head coach Cameron Rieth. "All that matters is who is ready to throw down on the same exact course on race day. We still have a lot of work that needs to be done and a few people on both sides to step-up."
The USTFCCCA is a non-profit professional organization representing cross country and track and field coaches that includes over 9,000 coaching members. It encompasses the NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA and a number of state high school coaches associations.
The next competion for both Trojan teams is Saturday in Stillwater, Okla. at the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree.
