After a strong showing at the Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen Invite in Manhattan, Trojan runners Emily Diercks and Sanele Masondo claimed Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) cross country male and female athletes of the week honors.
Diercks was the top KJCCC and NJCAA finisher. The sophomore from Hoxie placed 22nd overall in 18:20, which was 1:48 faster than her time last year at the same 5K race.
From Kwazulu Natal, South Africa, sophomore Masondo won the men's 8K with a time of 23:31. He was 40 seconds ahead of the runner-up in a race of 300 competitors from NCAA I and II, NAIA, and NJCAA.
