Djukic inks LOI
All-KJCCC first-team selection signs with D-I New Mexico
Wednesday Trojans sophomore Milica Djukic signed a letter of intent to continue her education and volleyball career with the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, N.M. The Lobos are a Division I school in the Mountain West Conference.
Djukic was an All-Jayhawk West/Region VI second-team selection as a freshman. From Belgrade, Serbia, she returned as a sophomore to earn first-team honors after she recorded 115 blocks and finished second in the western division with 1.22 blocks per set. The 6-0 middle blocker also contributed 172 kills and had the second-best hitting percentage at .357.
"We are so proud of Milica as this opportunity is proof that determination and hard work truly pays off," said CCC head coach Carey Jones. "I am confident she is in really good hands next year, and she will make a great addition to their program."
In Djukic's two years at Colby, the Trojans went 51-11 while spending several weeks ranked in the top 20. Each year CCC finished as conference runners-up.
