Archer headed to Augusta
All-conference right side from Andale to play in Georgia
Colby Community College volleyball standout Julie Archer recently inked a National Letter of Intent with Augusta University in Augusta, Ga. The Jaguars of AU compete in the NCAA Division II Peach Belt Conference.
Twice during the 2018 season, the right side hitter was named Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week on the way to becoming an all-conference second team member. She also was named to the conference first team as a freshman. The line for the 5-foot-10 Andale native's CCC career includes 725 kills, 52 aces, 463 digs and 107 blocks.
Archer is the fifth member of the 2018 squad who will be playing at the next level in the fall.
"We are very excited that Julie made her decision to continue playing volleyball at Augusta and have no doubt she will continue to have much success athletically and academically," said Trojans head coach Carey Jones. "She has been an integral part of our program's success for the past two years and made a positive impact in many ways within our program, school, and community."
The Trojans went 27-4 last season, the most wins in program history.
