No. 20 Trojans over Barton

The undefeated season for the Colby Community College volleyball team remained intact after sweeping Barton Community College Wednesday night at the Community Building, 25-23, 25-22 and 25-18.

CCC started strong in each set and had to hold off a tenacious Cougar team. In two of the three sets, Colby held leads of seven points only to have Barton storm back and tie or temporarily take the lead.

Kyndal Bacon had 37 assists and 10 digs, while Alex Merle contributed 11 kills to go with 13 digs. Julie Archer led the Trojans with 14 kills.

The Trojans, ranked No. 20 this week, improved to 14-0 and 5-0 in the Jayhawk Conference. Barton falls to 8-8 and 3-2, with their other KJCCC loss coming at the hands of No. 8 Seward County.

Next, Colby hosts Butler Community College (10-6, 4-1) for a 2 p.m. game Saturday at the Community Building.
