Summer volleyball camps announced
Sessions available for grades 1-12
The Colby Community College volleyball program will hold multiple camps in June for students entering first through 12th grades.
Tenth-year head coach Carey Jones and her staff will lead the camps. Registration fees range from $40 to $70 and include a Trojan volleyball T-shirt.
The elementary skills camp, for students entering first through fifth grades, is from 9 to 11 a.m. on June 5-7. Campers will learn passing, setting, hitting and serving.
From 1 to 4 p.m. on June 5-7, the junior high camp is for participants entering sixth through eighth grades. Instruction will be given on passing, setting, hitting and serving.
The high school skills camp is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 19-20. The focus will be on passing, setting, hitting, blocking, defense, serving and serve-receive.
A setter clinic will also be offered from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 18 for students in seventh through 12th grades. Campers will learn specific setting drills in addition to in-depth setter footwork, technique and hand and set placement.
