Sweep of Cloud County runs win streak to six
Lady Trojans have won 18 straight sets
The first place Colby Community College Lady Trojans volleyball team won their sixth game in a row with a three set sweep of the Cloud County Thunderbirds Wednesday at the Colby Community Building, 25-12, 25-22 and 25-12.
Of note during the six game streak is that Colby has swept every opponent for 18 straight set wins.
As they have done all season, the Jayhawk Conference leaders had multiple contributions that included nine service aces. Sophomore Aleksandra Malek had a game-high 17 kills and sophomore Singryd Valladares added five. Seven players totaled 33 digs, led by 12 from sophomore Maja Jankovic.
Colby (18-4 overall, 9-1 KJCCC) travels to Dodge City Monday to play the Conquistadors (15-10, 4-6) before returning home to host Barton County Oct. 12. Both games begin at 6:30 p.m.
