Women's Indoor Track and Field Finishes 3rd at Regionals
PITTSBURG, Kan. - The 2024 Region VI Indoor Track and Field Championships saw the Lady Trojans secure 3rd place with 70 points, highlighted by Anita Afrifa's record-setting performances in the 60m and 200m dashes.
PITTSBURG, Kan. - The 2024 Region VI Indoor Track and Field Championships saw the Lady Trojans secure 3rd place with 70 points, highlighted by Anita Afrifa's record-setting performances in the 60m and 200m dashes. Ann Badawi and Tara Bert excelled in the 1000m, while Maissane Jouen's 8th-place finish contributed to the team's solid standing. Rosemary Arthur performed well in the 3K and mile events, and Elizabeth Tuxpan Hernandez impressed in the 5K and 3K races. Nonhlanhla Mabuza secured 5th place in the 3K, earning a spot at Nationals.
The men's team placed 7th with 48 points, with standout performances from Tremaine Browne in the long jump and triple jump, Kgadi Monyebodi in the 5K, and Sibonelo Khumalo in the 5K.
Both programs will now prepare for the NJCAA Nationals in Gainesville, FL, on March 1st and 2nd.
