EL DORADO, Kan. - Colby Community College fell to No. 25 Butler Community College 73-43 in El Dorado, Kansas on Wednesday night. The Trojans jumped out of the bus and got off to a hot start in the first quarter with an efficient offense and their always-present defensive effort.
The home Grizzlies answered with their physical play showing why they are ranked in the top 25.
In the end, the 31 points scored off Trojan turnovers swung the game their way for the win.
"That's a tough trip and with the physicality of a talented and aggressive team waiting for us, it's just a tough task. We did have several possessions through the game on offense where we found open looks like we have done time and time again this season. Being able to secure the ball and not have the live ball turnovers is something that has haunted us this season. We just need to keep working and focus on that part of our offensive game. Our big game now is at home on Saturday against Northwest Tech, we work to secure a spot in the Region VI tournament. " added Coach Spence.
Colby will return to the Event Center on Saturday to take on Northwest Kansas Technical College at 2 PM CT on Saturday, February 24th.
