The Colby Community College women's basketball team dropped a battle to Neosho County Community College Saturday afternoon at the Community Building, 66-51.
"The ladies fought hard to rally a comeback, but we fell short in the end," said Colby interim head coach Shareka Maner.
The physical Panthers controlled the glass and held a decisive 47-31 rebounding edge, including 18 offensive boards.
"Allowing second chance points off of offensive rebounds really hurt us," Maner said.
Kaitlyn Guillory notched a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Off the bench Brooke Bixenman had seven points, four steals and six rebounds.
Neosho's DeQuandra Lyles was the only Panther in double figures with 15 points. Alexis Casher had six offensive rebounds.
Wednesday night Colby, 5-22 and 3-20 in the Jayhawk Conference, travels to Liberal to match up with the Seward County Saints (24-3, 20-3). Game time is 6 p.m.
