Softball plans annual Duck Soup fundraiser
Tournament set for Sept. 8
The Colby Community College Trojans softball team will host the 16th Annual Duck Soup Tournament at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8. Games will be played at the City of Colby softball fields.
The Duck Soup Tournament is a fun event with special rules for each inning, such as running the bases backward, players hitting with their non-dominant hand, and playing with a 16-inch softball. Each team includes a minimum of five men and five women. Games consist of six innings with the visiting team awarded one-half point to avoid extra-inning games.
The entry fee is $100 per team or $10 per person. Organizers can help place individuals who want to play but are not on a team.
All proceeds benefit Trojan Softball.
"The fees assist with travel expenses, field maintenance, and practice equipment," said head coach Steve Kinnett. "Support is appreciated for the program and the student-athletes who become members of the community."
To register, contact Kinnett by Sept. 1 at 460-5507 or (785) 513-1700.
