Men's Basketball Falls at Indy
The Colby Community College men's basketball team dropped to 4-4 overall and 1-1 in Jayhawk Conference play following a 81-69 road loss to the Independence Community College Pirates on Saturday.
The only lead for the Trojans was a brief two-point advantage in the first half after countering Independence's 8-2 run to start the game. Indy regrouped and led 36-31 at halftime. Early in the second, Colby would tie the game at 38, only to see the Pirates put together a 7-0 spurt that put them ahead for the rest of the contest.
Three Trojans were in double figures on the night as Josh O'Garro once again led the team with 21 points. Mike Bell added 18 off the bench, while Anthony Sellars contributed 12. For the Pirates, Johan Nziemi had 19 points and 10 rebounds. Bouna Kebe fired in 18, while Alon Druker and Tyrese England both added 10 off the bench.
The Trojans host their first conference game of the season on Tuesday
