Sam Houston State signs Javion May
6-2 guard was KJCCC honorable mention
Sam Houston State University men's basketball coach Jason Hooten announced the signing of former Trojan Javion May for the 2020-21 season.
May, a 2020 CCC graduate, put up 11.6 points and 5.5 rebounds in 31 games last season. The 6-2 guard from Chicago, Ill., was second on the Trojans in shooting, making 55.1 percent of his shots on the way to earning Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference honorable mention.
"Javion fills out our last scholarship for this upcoming season," Hooten said in a university news release. "He is a multi-dimensional guard who will bring a high level of toughness to our program. Javion can be an elite defender and a player that can really get to the basket. We're also excited about his past success as a student-athlete and just his overall fit into our culture here at Sam Houston State."
The Bearkats of Sam Houston State participate in NCAA Division I as members of the Southland Conference. They posted a record of 18-13 last season.
