Davis, Sharp named first-team all-region
The awards keep coming for Trojan basketball players, as sophomores Eddie Davis and Demarcus Sharp were selected to the Division I Region VI men's basketball first team. Both players also made the Jayhawk Conference first team, which was announced in early March.
The 6-7 Davis was Colby's leading scorer and ranked third in the conference with 17.5 points a game. The Port St. Lucie, Fla., native also shot 48.4 percent from the field and played in all 32 games. He was the 2019 conference freshman of the year and finished fifth in CCC career scoring with 991 points.
Sharp appeared in all 32 games on his way to earning Jayhawk West offensive player of the year and defensive player of the year honors. His 3-point shooting ranked fourth in the West at 44 percent while averaging 16.5 points per game. Defensively, the 6-4 guard from Charleston, Mo., had a conference-best 2.5 steals per contest. He recently signed a letter of intent to play at Missouri State University.
