Colby Community College guard Demarcus Sharp earned Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors with a huge performance against Iowa Western in a 2-0 start to the Trojans' season.

Sharp averaged 16 points per game while shooting 63.6 percent from the field. He averaged 8 rebounds and 8.5 assists in 33.5 minutes per contest.

After opening the regular season Friday with a 109-63 win over the Bethany JV, Colby defeated Iowa Western 93-73 on Saturday. Sharp posted a triple-double against the Reivers with 16 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists. He was 7 of 11 shooting with a 3-pointer.

Sharp, a 6-foot-4 sophomore who played last season at Moberly Area Community College, is from Charleston, Mo.
