Conference recognition for Trojan basketball players
Hall earns second team, Beaudion honorable mention
Colby Community College sophomore basketball player David Hall was named to the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division I Second Team and freshman Craig Beaudion received honorable mention for their play this season.
Hall was a captain and started all 32 games for the Trojans. The 6-foot-6-inch, 185-pound Bucyrus, Ohio, native averaged 13.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest. His 74 percent shooting from the free throw line ranked fourth, and his 33 steals was sixth best in the Jayhawk Conference. He scored double digits 21 times this season and was an NJCAA all-academic second team member as a freshman. Outside of basketball he is a resident assistant and works as a tutor.
At 6-foot-3 and 170 pounds, Beaudion averaged 10.4 points a game. In 26 conference games, the point guard from Chicago shot 52.8 percent from the field and 42.5 percent behind the 3-point line. He tallied nearly three steals and dished out 2.8 assists per game. He scored in double digits 14 times and started 23 games.
Beaudion and Hall were part of a Trojans team that advanced to the Region VI quarterfinal game and compiled an overall record of 20-12. The 20 wins are the most by the program since 2003-04.
"David and Craig are well deserving of their all-conference nominations," said Colby head coach Rusty Grafel. "They both played key roles in our success as a team.
