Bio

Cody is the son of Eric and Julie Jahay. He grew up in Hazelton, Kan., on a diversified operation that raises primarily wheat and feed for livestock. His family runs a commercial cowherd as well. Growing up, Cody was involved in 4-H and FFA. He exhibited cattle, sheep and hogs at the local and state level while also competing on livestock judging teams. Spending most of his life around livestock, Cody developed a passion for cattle and started his own registered Angus herd in high school with the goal to raise and sell bulls private treaty. He was drawn to Colby for the farm management program and to be a member of the livestock judging team. Cody feels that being on the judging team will allow him to meet more people in the livestock industry and help him be more successful with his own cattle operation by gaining a better understanding of livestock evaluation.
