Summer Camps
General Information
The CCC Horsemanship Camps are designed to be both an educational and fun experience for youth. Campers are under supervision and direction by CCC equestrian coaches and team members. Space is limited to 15 individuals for each camp.
Colby Community College is pleased to offer the following sessions of Summer Horsemanship Camps:
Beginner Day Camp: May 23, 2024
This day camp is for beginner riders with limited experience. The camp will begin on May 23 with camper registration and horse check-in at 8:30 am at the CCC Agricultural Center. The lunch meal and camp T-shirt will be provided. The camp will conclude at 3:30 pm. The Beginner Day Camp is for youth ages 5-10.
Young Showman Day Camp: May 24, 2024
Campers must have two years of previous show experience. The camp will begin on Thursday, May 24, with camper registration and horse check-in at 8:30 am at the CCC Agricultural Center. The lunch meal and camp T-shirt will be provided. The camp will conclude at 3:30 pm. Young Showman Day Camp is for youth ages 5-10.
Registration
Registration for the 2024 sessions closes on May 17, 2024.
Registration is limited to 15 campers per session and will be accepted and confirmed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration cutoff for both sessions is May 17 or sooner if full. A waiting list will be established for registrations received after the camps are full. Confirmation of enrollment and additional information concerning the Summer Horsemanship Camps will be mailed/emailed after the registration is received.
Fees
$100 – Young Showman Day Camp OR Beginner Day Camp with a personal horse.
$110 – Young Showman Day Camp OR Beginner Day Camp with a leased horse.
This includes tuition, lunch meal, activities, and a camp t-shirt.
The registration includes lunch, activities, and a camp t-shirt.
Stalls or runs are also available to campers attending the Show Day Camps, and they come pre-bedded with straw. However, if you bring your own horse and prefer shavings, you are responsible for providing them. You are also required to bring hay, grain, buckets, grooming supplies, saddle, bridle, pads, and any other necessary supplies to care for your horse.
Please note: Campers must make their own motel accommodations and evening meals if staying overnight in Colby.

Horse Information
Participants are encouraged to bring their own horse for use during camp. A limited number of CCC-owned horses will be available for lease at an additional cost. Campers who are bringing their own horses are required to provide the following prior to or at registration:
1. Health certificate (within 30 days)
2. Valid negative Coggins certificate (within 1 year)
3. Proof of current 5-way vaccination
4. Proof of current West Nile vaccination
Instructors
The primary riding instructors for camp will be Colby Community College Equestrian Coaches supported by CCC Equestrian team members.
