Three qualify for hunt seat regionals
(By Samantha Scholting) Sophomores Samantha Scholting and Madisyn Haggard and freshman Rachel Keltz all qualified for the regional championships when the Colby Community College equestrian team competed in a hunt seat show on Feb.23-24 in Colorado Springs, Colo. Class winners at the show hosted by the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs and Colorado College included Amber Graber, Haggard, Keltz, and Nichole Patry.
"I am extremely pleased with the hunt seat team's performance this past weekend," said hunt coach Sara Jamison. "We earned several top placings and also had three riders point out of their divisions to qualify for regional competition on March 10th. I am excited to get to work for the next two weeks to prepare for post season competition."
The team will compete again in Colorado Springs March 9 as a regular point show. The Hunt Seat Regional Championships will follow the next day.
