Two qualify for hunt seat regionals
Pitcher, Covel win classes
Sophomores Amelia Pitcher and Kortnie Covel qualified for the regional championships when the Colby Community College equestrian team competed in a hunt seat show Feb. 10-11. Pitcher and Covel were also class winners at the event, which was hosted by the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs and Colorado College.
"It was a frigid weekend in Colorado Springs, but our riders didn't let it affect them and rode well," said assistant coach Sara Jamison. "I am especially excited that Kortnie and Amelia won their classes on Saturday which earned them both enough points to qualify for regionals. I am so proud of how hard they have worked and improved over the last two seasons and am excited to take them to post season competition."
The team competes in the final regular season western shows of the semester and the western regional championships hosted by University of Nebraska-Lincoln Feb. 23-25.
