Trojans right-handed pitcher Alex Cook is the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference week 5 pitcher of the week after a dominating performance against No. 18 Cloud County on Sunday.
The sophomore from Bethlehem, Ga., struck out 13 batters over six scoreless innings while scattering three hits in a 14-0 victory. The 13 punchouts match his season-high in a win over nationally-ranked Crowder College on Feb. 27. He improved his record to 4-0 on the season and reduced his ERA to 1.42.
As a freshman, Cook was the KJCCC western division pitcher of the year after going 11-1 and led the region in wins, complete games (5), and strikeouts (118) in 80.2 innings.
