Baseball begins playoffs at home with Coffeyville
Rain forces best-of-three series to a Friday doubleheader

Wet field conditions have caused the third schedule change for the first round of the Region VI playoffs between Colby Community College and Coffeyville Community College. The teams will now square off for the first time Friday at 4 p.m. in the best-of-three series in Colby. Game two will be Saturday at 1 p.m., and if necessary, a third game will follow approximately 30 minutes later. Each nine-inning contest will be streamed live from Young Memorial Field on the KJCCC Network.
The Colby Community College baseball team will host Coffeyville Community College in the first round of the Region VI playoffs for a best-of-three game series. Because of wet field conditions, Thursday's opener has been postponed and a doubleheader will begin Friday at 1 p.m. If necessary, game three will start at 3 p.m. Saturday. Each nine-inning contest will be streamed live from Young Memorial Field on the KJCCC Network.
For the fourth consecutive year, CCC is playing at home to open the playoffs. The Trojans finished third in the Jayhawk Conference western division with a record of 19-13 and 33-19 overall. They are the No. 5 seed in the tournament while the 12th seed Red Ravens were 14-18 in the eastern division and 28-25 overall.
The team that takes the weekend series will advance to the Central District Playoffs beginning May 15 in Wichita's Eck Stadium. The opponent will be the winner of the Johnson County (4) and Garden City (13) series this weekend in Overland Park.
