Bio

Clinton Fletcher has been the CCC head track and cross country coach since 2019.

Fletcher is familiar with the Jayhawk Conference, having served as the head cross country and track and field coach at Neosho Community College (2013-15) and Allen Community College from 2007 to 2011. While at Allen, he coached two NJCAA triple jump national champions, 29 NJCAA All-Americans, 24 Region VI champions, and 28 Jayhawk Conference champions. His 2008 cross country squad was the Region VI academic team of the year. In 2010, he was recognized as the KJCCC coach of the year.

From 2011-13, Fletcher oversaw sprints and jumps for NCAA Division I Samford University. During his tenure, the Bulldogs broke several school records, and he coached the 2012 Southern Conference men's freshman of the year as well as five conference champions.

In recent years, Fletcher was an assistant track and field coach at Florida A&M University. Before arriving at CCC, he coached track and taught biology and physical sciences at Hardee County High School in Wauchula, Fla.

Originally from Pine Bluff, Ark., Fletcher earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science from the University of Mississippi while a member of the Rebel track and field team. He competed in the 2004 NCAA Division I Indoor Championships as a member of the Ole Miss 4x400 team that finished 10th.

He and his "better half" Postenea Louisjeune are parents of son Clinton Jacob Jr., and a daughter, Zhuri.

Coach Fletcher has recruited, coached, developed, and mentored athletes to great success.

  • Isiah Young: Young went on to become the 2013 US Champion in the 200m, 2012 US Olympian, SEC Champion, and NCAA All-American.
  • Jonathan Juin: Juin went on to earn All-SEC Honors and Holds the Hattian Indoor 55m and 200m Record.
  • Keythra Richards (BAH): Under Fletcher, Richards earned the Bahamas National Championship in the triple jump and held the Under 20 Record in the triple jump in 2009
  • J’Vente Deveaux (BAH): Deveaux bounded a PR of 16.44 which garnered him an IAAF Ranking on the way to winning the 2011 NJCAA National Championship in the triple jump
  • Cameron Parker (BAH): Parker jumped a PR 15.81 and won the 2009 NJCAA National Title in the Triple Jump. Parker went on to become a NCAA Division I All-American
  • Coached Alahni Wood and Tiara Corbett to School Records at FAMU and to MEAC All-Conference honors in 60m Hurdles
  • SOCON Conference Accolades: Coached 5 Conference Champions, 1 Most Outstanding Field Athlete; 1Freshman Athlete of the Year, and 5 SOCON All-Freshman Team Honorees
  • Coached over 60 NJCAA All-Americans and 3 NJCAA National Champions.
  • Coached 2 school records at FAMU, 12 school records at Neosho County Community College, 7 school records at Samford University, and 33 school records at Allen County Community College.
  • Earned the 2010 NJCAA Region VI Outdoor Coach of the Year Award.
